Mountain Rinjani Trekking – Day 1

May 2012:  Me and few friends went to Rinjani mountain for few days trekking… It will take four days three nights to cover the total trekking route. very excited.. :). Here is where the mountain located…

Rinjani Mountain is located in Lombok island, Next to bali Island, Indonesia (click for bigger picture)

Preparation: Few times warming up trekking to Gunung Gede, and buying outdoor gears (trekking pole, shoes, jakcet etc). Rinjani is one of the highest mountain in Indonesia probably third highest with 3700 meter height (Jaya Widjaya is the highest and Kerinci is the second, it will be very cold up there… no snow though… The route is as follows: (see the 3D map for reference)

  • Day 1: From registration office to Camp 1 (2.639 m) stay over night,
  • Day 2: Camp 1 to summit (3.726 m) (start at 2.00 AM) Back to Camp 1 (2.639 m )and continue to Camp 2 (2.010m) (stay overnight at camp 2),
  • Day 3. Trekking from camp 2 to Camp 3 (2.641)  is at Caldera plawangan senaru stay Overnight
  • Day 4 : From Camp 3 to Senaru (500 m) end…

Our trekking operator is John adventure which is very recommended, let the picture speak for them self. Note: this picture will be only for Day 1. Camera : Fuji X100

Loading logistic for four days trekking, Rice, banana, 40 eggs, pineapple, lots of mineral water, tent, folding chair etc

Post II… where we had rest and lunch, we stayed for about one hour… Do not ask where the post I is… no time for taking pictures, I was busy catching breath :)

This is the slope that I am talking about… around 45 degree and above the cloud, oxygen is probably thinner.  That slope is the old trekking route
Yeay.. I can see the mountain tops… but I have to reach the caldera first…

Normal average fit trekker will take about 8-9 hours to reach caldera… I took about 11 hours… the team leave me behind with one porter, because they have to set up the camp and cook for the dinner…

Now its time to have dinner and a good rest. Tomorrow, we have to start at 2.00 AM..! If only I can find the camp… :(  See you in Day 2 post

50ml Lens shootout : Jupiter 8 VS Summicron type II VS Sonnar Carl zeiss

Weekend ini saya mendapatkan pinjaman camera sony Next 5N dari michael yang sudah lebih dahulu mengunakan lensa dengan M Mount (Leica mount) dipasang di camera ini. Saya ingin mencoba membuat perbandingan antara lensa M mount yang murah, yg lama dan yang baru…

Tentang Camera Sony Alpha Next 5N

Kalau anda ingin lihat detailnya dan harganya bisa klik disini (bukan link berbayar)… intinya, adalah Camera ini menggunakan sensor mutakhir ukuran APS-C (crop factor 1.5). Jadi ini kalau lensa 50mm akan seperti 75mm. Kamera ini termasuk kamera pocket yg keren…

Tentang Lensa:

Jupiter 8 50mm f2.0: Sebetulnya adalah lensa yang dengan desain yg meniru lensa Carl Zeiss Sonnar yg dibuat sebelum perang dunia ke dua, jadi bisa dikatakan Jupiter 8 adalah kakek buyut dari Sonnar carl zeiss yg akan kita bandingkan nantinya.

Saya mendapatkannya di Ebay dengan harga 500 ribu saja sudah dengan ongkos kirim..!

Leica Summicron type II :  adalah Lensa dengan design Planar, yang terkenal akan ketajaman resolusinya.  ini adalah lensa mahal (pada jamannya) dibuat sekitar tahun 1962. Hanya saja Lensa ini karena sudah tua, ada “hazing” di internal lensnya, sedikit banyak akan mempengaruhi hasil fotonya. Hara sekarang kira kira 5-8 jutaan tergantung dari kondisi.

Carl Zeiss Sonnar 50 f1.5 : Last but not least, Lensa Ini adalah lensa dengan design sonnar sama dengan lensa rusia diatas, tetapi lebih modern dengan coating yang lebih canggih. Lensa desain ini sudah ada sejak tahun 1932. Asal Kata sonnar adalah Sonne atau matahari karena Keuntungan desain ini adalah bisa di desain bukaan lebih lebar dengan besar lensa yg relative kecil. Lensa ini juga lebih tahan flare dan kontras lebih bagus, tetapi negativenya adany chromatic aberration… tapi apa betul begitu… kita lihat hasilnya

Lensa Rusia 50mm F/2 harga Rp. 500 rb 

Lensa pertama adalah lensa Rusia dengan bukaan 2.0, terlihat sekali bahwa contrastnya low, juga kurang sharp… sebetulnya  untuk lensa 500 ribu rupiah hasil ini sangat bagus…! Kontras ini bisa diakali dengan post processing nantinya

Lensa Leica summicron 50mm F/2 type II (ada haze di internal lens)

Sangat mengejutkan ternyata summicron cotrastnya juga low.. mungkin karena di lensanya ada hazing yang mempengaruhi kontrasnya… tapi untuk sharpness terlihat cukup sharp untuk bukaan lebar dan ada haze di lensa tersebut. (klik gambar utk melihat lebih besar)

Carl Zeiss Lens 50mm F/1.5

Whoa… Langsung terlihat beda contrastnya, bukaan 1.5, kalau anda klik di gambar, anda akan melihat “color fringe” di rambutnya si mbak, tapi hal tersebut juga yang membuat foto “glowing dan 3D” nya muncul

Kesimpulan:

  1. Lensa baru yang tidak ada hazenya lebih bagus.. (ya iyalah..)
  2. Lensa Summicron perlu di bersihkan ke bengkel lensa (semua juga tahu)
  3. Lensa Rusia rasanya akan pensiun dini… :)
  4. dengan segala keterbatasannya, Carl Zeiss sonnar 50 f/1.5 itu kereeen.. :D

Berikut ini foto Carl Zeiss lens dipasang di sony alpha next 5N…  Yah demikianlah weekend project ini mudah mudahan berguna… ciao…

My short visit to the island of Gods

This is probably my shortest visit to Bali, I was there only for few hours to catch the plane to Lombok. Fortunately I had a chance to stop and took some pictures of  Ngaben preparation… not the actual cremation ceremony though due to the limited time I have… here are the picts
